Softball Game Preview: Rutland Hurricanes vs. Taylor County Vikings

Rutland hasn't had much luck against Taylor County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hurricanes will face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Rutland has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rutland fell victim to Peach County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 20-0 to the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Taylor County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Manchester a 16-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rutland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Taylor County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Rutland might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Taylor County in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
