Preview: Burbank Titans vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals

Burbank is 1-9 against Laguna Creek since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Burbank Titans will look to defend their home court against the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Burbank and seven for Laguna Creek.

Last Tuesday, Burbank had to suffer through a rough 76-11 loss at the hands of Kennedy. Burbank was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-5.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burbank struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.

Meanwhile, Laguna Creek suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Davis Sr. 67-22. While losing is never fun, Laguna Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 853rd, while Davis Sr. is ranked 276th).

Burbank has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Laguna Creek, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Burbank ended up a good deal behind Laguna Creek when the teams last played on January 5th, losing 55-37. Will Burbank have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
