Softball Recap: Pueblo Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against Pueblo East

There's no place like home for Pueblo Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Pueblo East Eagles on Thursday as they made off with a 10-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Charley Autobee was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, Pueblo Central got a massive performance out of Bella Moreno, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Moreno a new career-high. Sophia Perez was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Pueblo Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.

Pueblo Central's record is now 9-3-1. As for Pueblo East, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Pueblo Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-4 win against Palmer Ridge on the 13th. As for Pueblo East, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against La Junta on the 13th.
