Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Beyer

The Johansen Vikings will take on the Beyer Patriots in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Johansen is headed into the matchup having not lost since November 26 and will look to keep things rolling. Neither they nor Escalon could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Beyer waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lions. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12-3), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ava Medrano and Abigail Rutishauser scored both of Beyer's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Johansen's draw makes their record 3-1-2 this season. As for Beyer, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Johansen came out on top in a nail-biter against Beyer when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 2-1. Will Johansen repeat their success, or does Beyer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
