Basketball Recap: Bullard Wins Going Away Against Sunnyside

Bullard won the last time they faced Sunnyside and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Bullard Knights' way against the Sunnyside Wildcats as the Bullard Knights made off with a 56-33 win. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Wildcats are ranked 823rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Sunnyside lost, don't look at Ruby Cartwright. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Cartwright is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Ja'Kirah Standifer was another key player, putting up four points.

Bullard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Sunnyside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Bullard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-42 victory against Hoover on the 14th. As for Sunnyside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-18 defeat against Immanuel on the 14th.
