Preview: Temple City Rams vs. Monrovia Wildcats

Temple City is 10-0 against the Wildcats since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Temple City Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Monrovia Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Temple City will be strutting in after a win while the Wildcats will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Temple City didn't have too much trouble with the Titans at home as they won 66-48. Temple City pushed the score to 55-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans cut but never quite recovered from.

Temple City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kristi Huynh out in front who scored 22 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Hailey Chau, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Monrovia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by South Pasadena at home and fell 61-19. While losing is never fun, Monrovia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1043rd, while the Tigers are ranked 60th).

Temple City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Monrovia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Everything went Temple City's way against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January as the Rams made off with a 58-35 victory. With Temple City ahead 31-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
