Soccer Recap: Volcano Vista Starts off Right with Win over Santa Fe

Volcano Vista gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Santa Fe Demons a 2-0 shutout.

David Sherer and Carrick Mangus scored both of Volcano Vista's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

This is the second loss in a row for Santa Fe and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Volcano Vista will square off against Albuquerque at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Fe, they will venture away from home to face off against Los Alamos at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
