Soccer Recap: Volcano Vista Starts Season with Win at Home

Volcano Vista gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Santa Fe Demons a 2-0 shutout.

David Sherer and Carrick Mangus scored both of Volcano Vista's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Volcano Vista wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 6-2 win against Albuquerque on the 23rd. As for Santa Fe, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Los Alamos on the 25th.
