Baseball Recap: Belleville Wildcats vs. New Glarus Knights

Belleville extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-15. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Glarus Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-2 defeat last Thursday.

As for New Glarus, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For New Glarus' part, Braden Rear was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Rear has posted since back in April. Brock Roth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As of now, neither Belleville nor New Glarus have any future games scheduled.
