St. Mary had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-39 back in January.

St. Mary's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Barlow led the charge by going 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Brabec, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Several Renegades players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Jesse, who scored ten points and seven rebounds. William Jesse was another key player, putting up ten points.

St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

St. Mary's will take on Elgin/Pope John in a tournament on Saturday. One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 games. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they will square off against Stuart at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stuart is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
