Soccer Game Preview: Duarte vs. Baldwin Park

Duarte and Baldwin Park are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2016, but likely not for long. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Duarte turned things around against Nogales on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Nobles by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Baldwin Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Garey 2-1 on Wednesday. Given Baldwin Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Garey are ranked 800th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Duarte's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-7-1. As for Baldwin Park, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-1.

Duarte beat Baldwin Park by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, winning 2-1. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
