Basketball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Leland Chargers

The Burlingame Panthers will take on the Leland Chargers in a tournament on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Burlingame gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They strolled past Aragon with points to spare, taking the game 65-51.

Lucca Maher was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 88% from the field to rack up 31 points and five boards. Those 31 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Robenalt, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Leland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 win over Branham on Monday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Burlingame took their win against Leland in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 64-44 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
