After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeville South, Mounds View was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over the Roseville Raiders. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mounds View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beckham Wheeler led the charge by throwing for 112 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave Wheeler a new career-high in passer rating (123). Godson Rufus-Okomhanru was in the mix as well, providing Mounds View with two scores.

Mounds View's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Alex Isabel was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.

The victory got Mounds View back to even at 1-1. As for Roseville, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Mounds View and Roseville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 94th) will meet Maple Grove (ranked second) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Roseville will challenge East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (232 vs. 70).
