Soccer Game Preview: Stockbridge vs. Alcovy

Stockbridge will face off against Alcovy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stockbridge is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Stockbridge barely beat Hampton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 4-0 win last Thursday. Stockbridge might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Alcovy fell victim to Clarke Central and their airtight defense last Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Gladiators. While losing is never fun, Alcovy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Clarke Central are ranked 22nd).

Stockbridge pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Alcovy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
