Basketball Game Preview: Williamson Warriors vs. Towanda Black Knights

Williamson hasn't had much luck against Towanda recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Black Knights at 6:00 p.m.

Williamson's last matchup with Austin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Saturday. The Warriors came up short against the Panthers, falling 43-17. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Warriors who fell 37-35 when the teams previously met back in December of 2019.

Aubrey Wells was Williamson's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Kenna Thomas held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Alexis Sprague took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, Towanda took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 69-12 victory over Sayre. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-6.

The win got Towanda back to even at 1-1. As for Williamson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Williamson suffered a grim 57-36 defeat to Towanda in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
