After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Costa Canyon, San Diego was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Escondido Charter Tigers with a sharp 70-48 victory.

San Diego found their leader in sophomore Gianna Woodson, who made all 9 shots she took racking up 23 points. Jewel Parker was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took for 14 points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Grayson, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Grayson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Harper Mowrey, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

San Diego now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Escondido Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, San Diego and Escondido Charter will both be playing Del Norte the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Nighthawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cavers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
