Marquez is 10-0 against Maywood Academy since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Marquez Gladiators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maywood Academy Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marquez is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Maywood CES on Wednesday. Marquez fell 3-1 to Maywood CES.

Meanwhile, Maywood Academy fell victim to Maywood CES and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Wolfpack. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Nighthawks haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

Maywood Academy dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Marquez, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6-2.

Everything went Marquez's way against Maywood Academy in their previous meeting on January 6th, as Marquez made off with a 5-1 victory. Will Marquez repeat their success, or does Maywood Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
