Baseball Game Preview: Buchholz Bobcats vs. Pace Patriots

For the second straight game, Buchholz will face off against Pace. The Bobcats will head out to face off against the Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buchholz is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Buchholz is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pace as they made off with an 11-2 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Wyatt Clarke looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Roen Kresak and Hudson Sapp did most of the damage at the plate: Kresak went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Sapp went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Sapp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cedaris Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Buchholz's victory bumped their record up to 31-2. As for Pace, with the loss, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-5.
