Football Recap: Deming Takes a Loss

Deming extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Silver Fighting Colts, falling 41-14. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Silver, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Josiah Madrid had an outrageously good game as he threw for 364 yards and five touchdowns. Mekhi Grant was in the mix as well, providing Silver with two TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deming will square off against Artesia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Silver, they will welcome Cobre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
