Baseball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Summit can now relate to. They came up short against the Cranford Cougars on Friday, falling 17-7. The loss continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Cranford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cranford, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 win against North Hunterdon on the 3rd.
