Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Eden Monarchs vs. Tracy Bulldogs

The Mt. Eden Monarchs will venture away from home to challenge the Tracy Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mt. Eden is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Arroyo 61-59. The Monarchs didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Tracy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-32 victory over the Jaguars.

Mt. Eden has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Tracy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9.

Everything came up roses for Mt. Eden against Tracy in their previous meeting back in January of 2017, as the squad secured a 60-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Eden since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
