Basketball Game Preview: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Bradshaw Christian The Pride

Having just played yesterday, the Argonaut Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Bradshaw Christian The Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Argonaut is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Union Mine just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to the Diamondbacks at home by a 44-29 margin.

Despite their loss, Argonaut saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alayna Critchfield, who posted seven points in addition to 12 rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most steals Critchfield has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brynn Begovich, who scored 11 points along with four steals and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Union Mine and fell 74-22. While losing is never fun, the The Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1337th, while the Diamondbacks are ranked 634th).

Argonaut's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10. As for Bradshaw Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.

Everything came up roses for Argonaut against Bradshaw Christian in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 68-23 win. In that contest, Argonaut amassed a halftime lead of 37-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
