Recap: Northgate vs. Branson
The Northgate Broncos and the Branson Bulls squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Northgate Broncos had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Northgate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Branson is ranked 82nd).
Northgate's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5-4. As for Branson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2-5.
Northgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Branson is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Las Lomas at 5:00 p.m. on February 20th. Branson's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
