Football Recap: Saraland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Murphy + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saraland). They never let the Murphy Panthers get on the board and left with a 55-0 win on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jamison Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 132 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing. What's more, he racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Sye Byrd was in the mix too, providing Saraland with two scores.

Another reason for the win was Saraland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Blair Evans was the leader with two.

Saraland's record now sits at 8-0. As for Murphy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Saraland will be playing in front of their home fans against Theodore at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Murphy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gulf Shores at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
