Basketball Recap: Frankford Comes Up Short

If Frankford was feeling good fresh off their 59-24 takedown of Penn Treaty on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pioneers were beaten by the Cheltenham Panthers 50-17 on Friday. The Pioneers were down 32-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Kamiyah Miller and Janeliss Laboy, who each put up four points. Miller also led the team in rebounds with eight. Zanayah Cross took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Frankford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Frankford and Academy Park will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Cheltenham, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Renaissance Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
