Preview: Mercer Mustangs vs. Kennedy Catholic
Mercer is 0-10 against Kennedy Catholic since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mercer Mustangs will be playing at home against Kennedy Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mercer entered their tilt with Farrell with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Mercer blew past Farrell, posting a 59-30 victory on the road.
Kennedy Catholic posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They blew past West Middlesex 69-16 at home.
Kennedy Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Magestro, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Layke Fields, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Mercer's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Kennedy Catholic, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Mercer took a serious blow against Kennedy Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 66-24. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mercer was down 31-10.
