Softball Recap: Malcolm Drops Highest Score of Season Against Syracuse

Malcolm extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 14-12. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 19-18 W against the Syracuse Rockets. The Clippers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Samantha Back was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Baylee Parr also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Malcolm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

As for Syracuse, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

On Syracuse's side, they got a massive performance out of Jade Campbell, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kathleen Donovan, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Malcolm wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-13 loss against Twin River on the 6th. Syracuse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
