Basketball Recap: San Domenico Comes Up Short

If San Domenico was riding high fresh off their 61-26 takedown of Convent of the Sacred Heart on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers were dealt a 69-41 defeat at the hands of the University Red Devils on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 758th, while the Red Devils are ranked 201st).

University got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Beischer out in front who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 22 boards. That's the most rebounds Beischer has posted since back in December of 2025. Mia Mendiola was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points and seven boards.

San Domenico's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for University, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

San Domenico wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-29 defeat against Lick-Wilmerding on the 6th. As for University, they have also already played their next game, a 72-25 victory against Convent of the Sacred Heart on the 6th.
