Football Recap: Brackett Takes a Loss

After soaring to 52 points the game before, Brackett was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They and the Falls City Beavers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Tigers suffered a 7-6 defeat. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 35-16 to the Beavers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Lewis threw for 65 yards on seven of 19 attempts. Troy Sandoval was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Abel Aguirre rushed for 58 yards.

Tyler Pawelek had an outrageously good game for Falls City as he rushed for 99 yards and one score on only 14 carries.

Brackett dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Falls City, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brackett will square off against D'Hanis at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Falls City, they will take on Junction at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Beavers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
