Basketball Recap: Point Arena Extends Winning Streak to Three

Point Arena took a 34-point loss the last time they faced off against Fort Bragg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 victory over the Timberwolves on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Point Arena to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayde Swan, who posted 15 points. Swan is becoming a predictor of the Pirates' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 0-5 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Ferreyra, who had ten points.

Point Arena's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Fort Bragg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Point Arena will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Tomales at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Bragg, they will be taking part in a tournament against Anderson Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
