If Kennedy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Elk Grove, they should've done a better job of containing Audrey Thao. The Thundering Herd came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 for which the team can thank Thao, who had 18 digs. Thao is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Elk Grove took Kennedy into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 28-26, 23-25, 21-25, 15-10.

The win made it two in a row for Elk Grove and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for Kennedy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Elk Grove will square off against Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Thundering Herd's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Kennedy, they will challenge Monterey Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
