Basketball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Comes Up Short

Contra Costa Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fremont Christian Warriors. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 41-39.

Among those leading the charge was Johanna So, who posted 14 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fremont Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Naomi Shi, who earned seven points.

Contra Costa Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Fremont Christian, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Contra Costa Christian will face off against Holy Names at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Fremont Christian, they and Making Waves Academy will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
