Softball Recap: Bainbridge Bearcats vs. Valdosta Wildcats
Bainbridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Valdosta Wildcats. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.
Katelyn Williams made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Taydem Burris was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Bainbridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Valdosta, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will host Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Bearcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Valdosta, they will face off against Cook at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
