Baseball Recap: Hardaway Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chattahoochee County on Thursday, Hardaway came back down to earth. The Hardaway Hawks fell 7-3 to the Dougherty Trojans on Friday. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hardaway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Eleby, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Eleby is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. A'Nazhe Purnell was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hardaway fell to 5-1. As for Dougherty, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dougherty beat Hardaway by a score of 12-4 later that day.
