Basketball Recap: Hoover's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Hoover lost to High Tech SD back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hoover Cardinals were the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over the High Tech SD Storm. The Cardinals pushed the score to 43-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Storm had little chance of recovering from.

Despite the defeat, High Tech SD saw an underclassman step up: freshman Poema Strong posted 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Strong's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aomi Nebel, who earned four points and three steals.

Hoover's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-11. As for High Tech SD, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-11.

Hoover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-16 win against Mission Bay on the 1st. As for High Tech SD, they will welcome La Jolla at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. La Jolla will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something High Tech SD surely won't give up without a fight.
