Red Bluff had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Yreka Miners by a score of 2-0. Give the Spartans' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Reese Plemons, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Red Bluff squad sat out for Wednesday's match. With Plemons sidelined, Natalie Luevano got her first action of the season. Luevano made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Red Bluff's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Yreka, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
