Football Recap: Eunice's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eunice had won two straight games and Elijah Melancon did his part to make it three on Friday. The Cardinals claimed a resounding 50-20 victory over the New Mexico Military Institute Colts for which the team can thank Melancon, who threw for 426 yards and six TDs while picking up 17.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, New Mexico Military Institute still got an impressive performance from Aquaylis Jordan, who rushed for 274 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Jordan was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.

Eunice's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for New Mexico Military Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Eunice has already played their next contest, an 88-36 victory against Morton on the 12th. As for New Mexico Military Institute, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 49-24 loss against Chaparral on the 11th.
