Basketball Recap: Washington Union Comes Up Short

Washington Union lost against Hanford West back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Washington Union Panthers took a blow against the Hanford West Huskies, falling 59-17. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Washington Union still got an impressive performance from Jade Holland, who posted eight points and six steals. Holland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Hanford West can attribute much of their success to Kayla Silva, who had 17 points. Jahryn Morgan was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Washington Union's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Hanford West, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Washington Union Panthers face off against the Kerman Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington Union is facing Kerman at the right time seeing as Kerman is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hanford West, they will take on Central Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hanford West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
