Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Ysidro walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the San Pasqual Golden Eagles 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Marco Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Armann Robles, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

San Ysidro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for San Pasqual, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-14.
