Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Covenant Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Peachtree Academy Panthers 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.

Asher Bond made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Bond wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Garrison Barton, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Covenant Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Peachtree Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Covenant Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
