Baseball Recap: Irwin County Comes Up Short

If Irwin County was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Turner County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinch County Panthers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-11 back in February.

Irwin County's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Clinch County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Irwin County will challenge rival Brooks County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clinch County is set to square off against their familiar foe Lanier County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
