Recap: El Dorado Cougars vs. West Park Panthers
After a string of four wins, the El Dorado Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of West Park by a score of 45-43. El Dorado lost against West Park in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-60 score last time.
Despite the loss, El Dorado still got an impressive performance from Alana Schneider, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Schneider's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Hawthorne, who scored seven points along with three steals.
El Dorado struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for West Park, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
El Dorado will be home for the holidays to greet Calaveras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Twelve Bridges is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
