Baseball Recap: Columbia Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Owyhee, Columbia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Jerome Tigers. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 15-4 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Columbia let Corbin Bolander and McKay Berrett run wild. Bolander went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Berrett went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Berrett has launched this season.

Columbia's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Jerome, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Columbia will be taking part in a tournament against Hillcrest at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jerome, they will take on Skyview at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
