Baseball Recap: Enumclaw Comes Up Short

Enumclaw and Monroe squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Enumclaw had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 1-0.

Russell Zimmer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April.

Enumclaw's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Monroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Enumclaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monroe, they will take on Kennewick at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bearcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
