Softball Recap: Mogollon Has No Trouble Against Ash Fork/Seligman

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Superior, Mogollon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ash Fork/Seligman Spartans with a sharp 14-7 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kaddie Porter made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Porter was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Kindsey Porter was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Haidyn Franco, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

Mogollon's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Ash Fork/Seligman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mogollon will venture away from home to face off against Duncan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildkats have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Ash Fork/Seligman, they will head out to take on El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
