Basketball Recap: Rylie Delepierre's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pierce over Colusa

If Pierce was riding high fresh off their 51-14 takedown of Paradise last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pierce Bears took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colusa RedHawks on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the RedHawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Pierce lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rylie Delepierre, who posted five points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Destany Martinez, who put up five points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Pierce smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.
