Softball Recap: Southeast Whitfield County Starts Season with Loss at Home

Southeast Whitfield County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedartown Bulldogs on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Chyann Blevins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.

Cedartown has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Southeast Whitfield County is set to take on their familiar foe Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cedartown will face off against rival Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
