Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Midtown Knights

The Lakeside Vikings will square off against the Midtown Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Midtown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeside, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Lakeside made easy work of Heritage and carried off a 16-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Willow Wilson and Tammyn Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one double, while Martin got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three runs gave Wilson a new career-high. Porter Bemiss was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Meanwhile, Midtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Decatur.
