Basketball Game Preview: Mercer Mustangs vs. Reynolds Raiders

Mercer is on a five-game streak of home losses, Reynolds a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Mercer Mustangs will host the Reynolds Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mercer is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Kennedy Catholic on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mercer was beaten by Kennedy Catholic 56-19. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Kennedy Catholic are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Reynolds took a blow against Wilmington on Thursday, falling 81-34. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-14.

Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Mercer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Mercer against Reynolds in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 62-34 win. Does Mercer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reynolds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
