Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Patriots.

Heritage found their leader in freshman Kierstyn Hess, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten steals. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for Hess. Another player making a difference was Audra Bickel, who posted six points along with seven boards and four steals.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Heritage, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Coming up, Hamilton will take on South Bend Career Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Heritage, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 33-25 defeat against Fort Wayne Wayne on the 18th.
